Nostalgia Train - July 26-28, 2001

On Thus., we went and explored the town of Hereford, England. We met the mayor of the city, who was so lovely. She is she 620th mayor of Hereford, and her term is only one year which I found interesting. I would think such a position would be held for longer. There she showed us the stately swords and what not, but quite frankly, that got really boring b/c she kept having to “look back at her notes,” so it got really annoying. But then we went down into the vaults of city hall which held some valuable pieces of silver. We then took a walking tour of the city. The next day we went into Oxford yet again. But that was nice b/c me and some others just hung out at an internet cafe. That was where I saw Richard Mass [sic]. It was good seeing someone from home.

Saturday was such a relaxing day b/c we didn’t have to do anything with the delegation. Jayme and I laid around for most of the the day. Finally a day off. Sarah, our homestay mom, took us to a BBQ. She was so nice to me and Jayme. I could not have asked for a better homestay. Sunday morning we headed back to swingin’ London. Can’t wait to go home.

LOLLLLL I’M DYING AT HOW CRANKY I WAS GETTING. But honestly, it’s a lot. Touring like that is tiring as much as it is enriching.

I genuinely don’t remember this BBQ/cookout situation. I recall drinking some Smirnoffs or other awful beverages with Jayme and her friends from the trip, who told me "you’re cooler than the friends you hang out with” which, wtf does that even mean? Oh high school, I do not miss you at the fuck all.
