Nostalgia Train - July 16, 2001
Another ridiculously full day. We drove up to the Secret Bunker of Scotland which I have to say was pretty pointless and boring - not worth the drive. However, the day did pick up when we went into St. Andrews and putted there by the famous golf course. Golf actually was invented here! I thought that was cool - too bad I don’t really care for the game. The whole time this kid Mike + I quoted Happy Gilmore. It was so funny + a lot of fun.
Then we went shopping in the town and I bought a sweatshirt w/ St. Andrews on it. Adorable town. The buildings here have so much history to them - nothing compares in the US. After dinner we went dancing. This Scottish dance troop was there showing us the steps. Kate + I had a blast b/c we actually knew what we were doing. I wore my kilt which is so different from everyone else’s which pleases me b/c I love to stand out w/o looking like I’m trying to. :)
AHHAHAHAHAHAHAH. So, I’m trippin’ on this. This was a very fun day. I recall wearing a thong under my kilt (??????) to go dancing. Wow. Idiot. Bless. 17 y.o. Dressing myself. Amazing. Look, I danced as a kid, you’re gonna flash some heinie as you dance, but a thong, girl??? Beat.
